ABOUT

I created Veldt because I wanted a sophisticated perfume that wouldn't give me a headache.

But I wanted more than that. I wanted a scent bold enough to contain contradictions: beautiful and earthy - ethereal and grounded - sensitive and assertive.

Unbound to restrictive stereotypes about gender.

Not finding what I sought on the market, I foolishly decided to make it myself.

As a child I loved The Veldt, the Ray Bradbury story. It was my first encounter with magical realism - my favorite literary genre and an ideal representation of what perfume can be: a magical experience in a world seemingly bound by concepts like gravity, aging and time.

Because scent is visceral, linked to a deep and wordless place in our brains, it has the power to summon experience from the far corners of memory and cut across years with an inhale.

In other words, scent can be a form of magic, a spell for time travel and resurrection.

Veldt is an attempt to honor that power.
